Day one of Blogging

Hi ladies!! I've really no clue what this is all about, but since my 3 teenagers spend hours talking about Blogs, Blogging, and Bloggers I'm sure we'll all find a purpose. I guess our charge is to find a purpose for this type of communication within our lang arts curriculum. The initial conversation we had in class about Writer's Notebooks from Lynda Valerie's class is probably the one thing that sticks in my mind as a connection right now. I bet my 4th graders would LOVE doing their Buddy Journals like this!!!!!

Kathy!

I also thought about Lynda Valerie's class - writer's notebooks. I hope this is easier, but I don't think we have to quote from Fletcher's book!
I have to go, it's time to transition!

Our grant is from Lesley Collage in Ohio. It's a 3 year grant and I believe we are on year 5 of the grant. My school does it for K-2. You need a coordinator for it and none of the 3-5 teachers wanted to do it. It's a lot of work for the teacher. Ours is a 1st grade teacher she teachs in the morning and coaches uses in the afternoon. I'll tell you more in another blog. sorry is spelling is bad.

Hi Kathy,
What a great way to think about instructional implications of blogs. A writers notebook in which others can respond and stimulate and contribute might work nicely.
My children are more tech savvy than I am- that is for sure. They learn by osmosis. It is tricky when you are a teacher and your students are more savvy than you are. That is often the case. With me too. The good thing is that we show them we are learners and risk takers. Sounds like you are one of those risk takers.
